TL;DR - We Know Nothing About You
We don't track you. We don't read your emails. We don't collect your data. We don't sell anything. Your privacy is absolute.
1. Our Privacy Philosophy
Pro-Chemicals was built on a simple principle: your data is yours, and yours alone. We use zero-knowledge architecture, which means we cannot access your encrypted content even if we wanted to. Privacy isn't a feature - it's our foundation.
2. What We Don't Collect
Unlike other email providers, we don't collect:
- IP addresses - We don't log where you connect from
- Metadata - We don't track who you email or when
- Behavioral data - We don't monitor your usage patterns
- Personal information - No phone numbers, real names, or ID required
- Browser fingerprints - No tracking cookies or analytics scripts
- Email content - Your messages are encrypted; we can't read them
3. What We Must Store
To provide email service, we store only:
- Your username - So you can log in
- Encrypted password hash - Zero-knowledge, we can't decrypt it
- Encrypted email data - Your messages, encrypted with your password
- Account creation date - To manage inactive accounts
All stored data is encrypted and inaccessible to us or anyone else without your password.
4. Zero-Knowledge Encryption
Your password is used to encrypt all your data on your device before it reaches our servers. This means:
- We never see your plaintext password
- We cannot decrypt your emails
- We cannot recover your password if you forget it
- Government requests for your data would yield only encrypted gibberish
This is not a bug - it's a feature. If we can't access your data, neither can anyone else.
5. No Advertising, No Tracking
We don't show ads. We don't scan your emails for marketing purposes. We don't build profiles on you. We don't sell data to third parties because we don't have any data to sell.
Our business model is simple: we provide free secure email because privacy should be accessible to everyone.
6. Legal Requests
We comply with valid legal requests, but there's not much we can provide:
- We can confirm if an email address exists on our system
- We can provide encrypted data (which is useless without the password)
- We cannot provide message content, metadata, or IP logs because we don't have them
We will never voluntarily cooperate with mass surveillance programs.
7. Anonymous Account Creation
You can create an account without providing any personal information. No phone number, no backup email, no identity verification. If you want to be truly anonymous, use Tor or a VPN when creating your account.
8. Third-Party Services
We don't use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services. Our website and email service are self-hosted and independent.
9. Data Retention
Your data remains on our servers as long as your account is active. We consider an account inactive after 12 months of no logins. Inactive accounts may be deleted to free up resources, but we'll send a warning to your email first.
You can delete your account at any time, and all associated data will be permanently erased.
10. Security Measures
We take security seriously:
- All connections use TLS encryption
- All stored data is encrypted at rest
- Regular security audits and updates
- Open-source code for transparency
- No single point of failure
11. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your encrypted data (by logging in)
- Export your emails
- Delete your account permanently
- Use the service anonymously
- Not be tracked or profiled
12. Children's Privacy
Our service is available to users of all ages. Since we don't collect personal information, we comply with children's privacy regulations by default.
13. Changes to This Policy
If we change this privacy policy, we'll notify users via email and update the date at the top. We will never reduce your privacy protections without giving you the option to delete your account.
14. Transparency Report
We publish an annual transparency report detailing:
- Number of legal requests received
- Number of accounts affected
- Types of data requested
- Our responses to those requests
